Simple Art

Wed Nov 25, 2009, 6:09 AM
If I look at my gallery now, I realize that I seem to be having a 'simple art'-phase or something. I'm busily colouring some sketches and redoing them. I've got so much unfinished artwork around me... But I somehow don't manage to finish them in a way they satisfy me. *Sigh* This Forest Goddess is my last hope :)

What more to tell about me than what is said in 'Devious Info'?

Well, I'm 19 years old, living a boring country called Germany where we have democracy and proper health insurances but... not quite more. I myself live in a province called 'Saarland' where people are said to be very French (We live very close to the Eastern border of France). Indeed this has been a part of France twice in the last century, but this shall not belong here.

So, why am I here? Art, of course. I loooove art. Art is what makes a human human. Of course, animals can't split atoms, but before the human being was able to use toilet paper or drive a car, there was art! And art is, what defines myself. Since I was a child, I've always been drawing and painting. I'm interested in all periods of art. From cave paintings to Pop Art. But I must say that the Renaissance is my favourite period and I'm not a great fan of Abstract Art, but it is art and if somebody is able to express himself with it, it is great ;) I myself prefer realistic and traditional art. Even if there are some exceptions in my own gallery :)
Art is expression of feelings, wether those of the artist or of the time he is/ was living in.
Art is fantasy, it has no borders. It's not only a handcraft. It goes with skill, but not only.
One can learn techniques but not the feeling that goes with it.

I'm rarely satisfied with my own art. I always see the mistakes the most. Colouring is not what I'm good at and my drawings are mostly strange, unfinished ideas. Most of my art stays conceptual because I don't have the skills to finish them. So I'm practicing :)

WATCH OUT MY HOMEPAGE (it's more a try than a real homepage...)

Fairy tales don't tell children the dragons exist. They know the dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.
